HOA Annual Meeting Wed, Jan 12

The Clifton Crest Homeowners Association will hold its required Annual Meeting on Wednesday, January 12th, 2022 at 7:00 pm. This will be a virtual meeting conducted via Zoom. You must send in a proxy form even if you plan to attend via Zoom (Link to proxy form below).

CLICK HERE to join the annual meeting.

There is a vacant seat on the HOA Board of Directors. All homeowners are encouraged to consider serving on the Board. It would be great to have representation on the board from all areas of Clifton Crest. Very little time is required and almost all HOA business is conducted via email.

SEND IN A PROXY FORM. Your proxy will allow us to achieve the legally required quorum to conduct business even if you will not be attending the meeting. It is also needed if your are attending the meeting. Download the form, print it, fill out (very easy) and sign. Take a picture of the form and email it to our Community Manager, Ingrid Ketterman, at iketterman@capitolcorp.com.

Your cooperation and involvement is greatly appreciated to maintain a functioning HOA. Without a functioning HOA, no trash or recycling contracts can be issued and no grounds maintenance or snow removal performed.

New Yard Waste Pickup Schedule

Because of labor shortages affecting our area, the Fairfax County government has issued a temporary waiver to the requirement for contractors to collect yard waste separately. Accordingly, starting August 31st and continuing for two months, Patriot Disposal will collect yard waste on the same days they pick up regular trash. The recycling pickup schedule is unchanged.

For more details, please see this County of Fairfax Solid Waste Advisory.

Yard Waste Update

The Clifton Crest HOA is aware of the ongoing problems with yard waste collection. Patriot Disposal says they have a shortage of workers and are having difficulty getting enough crews to do yard waste. They have been maintaining a regular schedule for trash and recycling collection. We are continuing to monitor the situation and pressing them to return to weekly yard waste collection as soon as possible. Our community manager advises us that other HOAs are having the same problem regardless of which company they use.

Also, please remember DO NOT PUT YARD WASTE IN PLASTIC BAGS. It will not get picked up. Use paper bags or place it in a plastic bin clearly marked “Yard Waste”. Thank You!

Trees Added to Entrance

The Clifton Crest HOA has added ten new trees along Clifton Road near the town homes on Clifton Crest Way. The trees – five Nellie Stevens Holly trees and five Green Giant Arborvitae – improve appearance, and when they grow larger, will add privacy and noise reduction.

No Plastic Bags for Yard Waste

Please be advised that the Fairfax County Government has banned the use of plastic bags for yard waste. Yard waste includes grass clippings, leaves, and bush and hedge trimmings. This is not under the control of the HOA. Our trash and recycling contractor, Patriot Disposal, sent us this notice:
